According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Americans are, by far, the most anxiety-ridden people on earth. Nearly a third of us are likely to suffer from an anxiety problem in our lifetime. Americans appear to be on a rather grim march to find that elusive Fountain of Perpetual Happiness. And this unrelenting pursuit may be the root cause for our own unhappiness. People of other countries appear to be content to enjoy whatever happiness falls fortuitously into their laps. They apparently do not spend many anxious moments planning their days around any number of activities “guaranteed” to give you peace, inner-harmony, and happiness.
