At the Risk of Being Seen

There are few moments in life when we are confronted with the naked objectivity of who we really are.  Oftentimes, it is through the lens of those close to us that we can glimpse an unfiltered view of ourselves.  It is never a comfortable experience.  It embarrasses us.  It leaves us feeling raw and wondering why others don’t see us exactly the same way that we see ourselves.  When we do happen to see how others see us, whether by accident or through some form of teasing, we can become guarded and defensive.  But perhaps the price of intimacy is allowing ourselves to be seen and to accept it with grace and humility.Read the full article here:  I Know What You Think of Me
