According to Katie Yezzi, a principal at a public charter school, practicing and preparing outside the classroom helps to ensure that the teachers improve their in-class performance. One example that Yezzi relates is practicing performance reviews with her supervisor before conducting the actual review. This helped her focus on the message she wanted to impart without being too harsh or negatively critical. She found that her confidence and calmness helped her to listen better as well.
