Samantha Brick, a 41-year old writer, is happy, has bright cheerful eyes, an air of confidence and loves to smile. She carries herself with pride and views herself positively. Her self-proclaimed beauty, however, is drawing bitter criticism from the media. Journalists are snickering, women are smirking and viewers are laughing at her claims. Brick’s attitude probably influences how she feels about her body and her looks. In contrast, the Dove Body Confidence Census, conducted this year, showed that, among women, only 1 in 10 say, “I feel attractive”. Rather than criticize Brick, others could echo her happiness and learn to love themselves too.
